We’re looking forward to attending the 2017 biannual SPE Offshore Europe event in Aberdeen, UK, on 5-8 September. As the largest E&P event in Europe, it’s set to be an eventful four days with over 50,000 professionals from around the world attending.
Pro-Sapien is one of 1,000 suppliers that will be on the exhibition floor, engaging with attendees and discussing our EHS solutions on SharePoint with interested EHS practitioners. Offshore Europe truly is a worthwhile event for those from EHS, with a wide range of keynotes, workshops and briefings available – not to mention a showcase of vibrant new technologies on the market. Here’s what we’re most looking forward to.
Improvements In Safety and Environment I (Safety)
Wednesday 6 Sep, 10:00 – 12:00 in the Forbes Room | View Agenda
This workshop, hosted by representatives from Shell, NOV, ConocoPhillips, Eni and Schlumberger, covers a number of topics within the EHS sphere. Developing strategy with human behavior in mind takes the forefront of discussion, as three of the four sessions within this two hour workshop hone in on workforce engagement. With the ever-more transient workforce, we’re particularly interested in how companies can factor contract workers into their EHS strategy.
Improvements In Safety and Environment II (Environment)
Wednesday 6 Sep, 14:30 – 16:30 in the Forbes Room | View Agenda
After IISE I and a break for lunch, the second part of this workshop concentrates on Environmental factors. Managers from Shell, Semcom, Suez and BP among others host this set of four discussions which cover the challenges the Oil, Gas & Energy industry is facing as the North Sea matures and climate change continues. Expect to learn about technologies for reducing fuel consumption, technologies for treating produced water emulsions, how biological changes may affect marine infrastructure, and more.
It’s All About Us: The human factors behind safety statistics [keynote]
Wednesday 6 Sep, 14:30 – 16:30 in room Gordon B | View Agenda
This keynote clashes with the IISE II workshop, so you’ll have to choose which will be more useful for your specific role at your company. Gordon Ballard, Director at IOGP (International Association of Oil & Gas Producers) discusses the popular topic of new pressures within the industry but with a twist – are they really to blame for increased fatalities? Join a panel of experts to learn about deeper issues that should be addressed.
Benefits Of Adopting ‘Best Practice’ From Others [keynote]
Thursday 7 Sep, 10:00 – 12:00 in room Gordon B | View Agenda
Extracting something from one thing and applying it to another takes imagination. The creative approach of adopting best practice from other industries could be a good route of pursuing ever-more efficiency in Oil & Gas operations, as argued by panelists from Jaguar Land Rover, SANOFI, Sodexo Justice and the Oil & Gas Innovation Centre in this keynote. Although this session is not specifically on EHS, there will be important messages that resonate with EHS attendees looking to broaden mindsets with new ideas.
How Are We Going To Embrace And Deliver Sustainability In The Sector? [keynote]
Thursday 7 Sep, 13:40 – 16:30 in room Gordon A | View Agenda
The Oil & Gas industry is very aware of sustainability issues – in this session chaired by Paul McDade, CEO Designate from Tullow, a group of industry and non-industry stakeholders are brought together to discuss “how we are doing as an industry in embracing sustainability.” In a society where technology is increasingly relied on, we feel this keynote will be particularly interesting for those keen on debating the pros and cons of automation within industry.
Of course, there are many more sessions on the agenda at Offshore Europe 2017 that you may (probably will) be interested in – check out the full program here. For us, the opportunity to meet new people and engage in intriguing discussions is invaluable and we’re thoroughly looking forward to seeing you there!
If you’d like to meet with us at some point over the four days, please let us know – as an exhibitor ‘walking the floor’, we’re able to book out an area where we can chat. We’d love to hear about your expectations of EHS software/technology in the coming years, or simply introduce you to our award-winning solutions on SharePoint.
