Beating 91 submissions, LBC Tank Terminals win the Transport & Logistics category in the 2019 Verdantix EHS Innovation Awards for their work with Pro-Sapien

September 25, 2019 • Glasgow, UK

LBC Tank Terminals (LBC), a global operator of bulk liquid storage facilities, won a prestigious EHS award last night in Atlanta, GA for the company’s innovative use of Pro-Sapien’s EHS software on Office 365.

Out of 91 submissions, LBC took home the Transport and Logistics category award at the Verdantix EHS Innovation Awards 2019, part of the annual Verdantix EHS Summit Americas.

Winners were selected across ten industry sectors by a panel of four independent judges in senior EHS management roles.

Steve Bolton, Verdantix Research Director, commented in a press release:

“With 91 award nominations this year, the 11 winners have proven their superior focus on EHS technology and innovation. By sharing their successful project plans and achievements, the award winners will help other organizations enhance their own EHS performance and reduce workplace injuries.”

Gary Cotie, HSE Manager, Matin Hoogenraad, CSR Manager, both LBC Tank Terminals, and Hannah Stewart, Marketing & Communications Manager at Pro-Sapien Software

Martin Hoogenraad, CSR Manager at LBC, who picked up the award on the night, commented from Atlanta:

“This EHS Innovation Award recognizes the teamwork between LBC and Pro-Sapien to develop a custom-made HSSEQ platform that is aligned with our 5 Core Values and our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy.

I truly believe that this tool has helped us remove a silo mentality and create a ‘one-LBC organization’.”

Headquartered in Belgium, LBC has facilities across Europe and the US, serving over 300 customers.

After Pro-Sapien’s implementation in 2017, which replaced an outdated Oracle-based solution, LBC Tank Terminals saw an 83% increase in reporting from non-EHS staff. This was accompanied by a 208% increase in Incident Reports overall and a 370% increase in Near Misses and Unsafe Situations Reports.

Furthermore, LBC has experienced huge time savings when running HSSEQ reports and training new users.

In 2018, firms utilized an estimated 15.5 million temporary workers. Independent analyst firm Verdantix places Contractor Management in the Growth maturity phase.

Hannah Stewart, Marketing & Communications Manager at Pro-Sapien —who originally nominated LBC for the award in June — commented from Atlanta:

“We nominated LBC TT for this Verdantix EHS Innovation Award because we saw the fantastic progress they were making since deploying Pro-Sapien in 2017. LBC achieved exactly what they set out to, with impressive increases in proactive employee participation — equipping the CSR team with actionable, up-to-date information.

It was an honour to join Martin collecting the award and I’m looking forward to our continued partnership.”

LBC continues work with Pro-Sapien to deliver new functionality further assisting the global organization in its holistic approach to safety and corporate social responsibility.
